Phil Newman

Phil is a seasoned book editor who began his freelance career for Thomas Nelson in 2009. His work has spanned multiple publishers, including HarperCollins, Penguin Random House, Forefront, IVP, Baker, and more.

The numerous authors whose books Phil has worked on include Franklin Graham, Sarah Jakes Roberts, Henri Nouwen, Bob Goff, Max Lucado, Lisa Whittle, Savannah Guthrie, Brant Hansen, Nancy French, Cristina Baker, and many more. Editors and authors have praised Phil’s work as collaborative, creative, thoughtfully queried, and detail oriented. While he enjoys the full spectrum of the editorial process, his recent projects have included manuscript development, copyediting, proofing, and marketing content writing. Phil also is an accomplished magazine writer and blogger.

When he’s not editing, you’ll find Phil playing disc golf, spending time with his family, and spoiling his shih-tzu, General Bear. Phil is based in Franklin, Tennessee, but has also enjoyed living in such diverse locales as South Carolina, Massachusetts, Virginia, Washington state, New York City, and Colorado.
