Sharifa is the daughter of Jamaican immigrants, born and raised in New York, and currently residing with her family in Dallas, Texas. She is an experienced sensitivity reader, collaborative writer, and substantive editor, with a bachelor’s degree in African American Studies from Columbia University and a master’s degree in theology from Dallas Theological Seminary.
Sharifa is passionate about the intersection of faith and culture, authentic multicultural writing, and developing an honest voice. She has contributed to several books and has had extensive experience writing and editing for IF:Gathering and Insight for Living. Sharifa has done collaborative writing with clients such as Charlie Peacock and Lecrae and serves as a freelance editor and sensitivity reader for publishers including HarperCollins and Blackstone.
