Rachael Clements

Rachael has been an editor for more than ten years and a book lover for as long as she can remember. She specializes in copyediting and proofreading and has worked on numerous books for both mainstream and Christian publishers, including Penguin Random House, HarperCollins, and Harvest House, as well as select independent authors. Her editing experience includes inspirational and women’s fiction, children’s books, and a variety of nonfiction genres—from Christian living and devotionals to self-help, cookbooks, and memoir. Rachael brings an eye for detail, a commitment to excellence, and a collaborative, supportive mindset to every project that lands on her desk, and she has been privileged to work on titles by authors such as Katie Davis Majors, Kim Vogel Sawyer, Robin Jones Gunn, and Dr. W. Lee Warren.

Rachael has an abiding love for grammar discussions, deadlines, and dark chocolate. When she’s not editing, she’s most likely cooking, hanging out with her family, or perusing books at the library.

“I have worked with multiple freelance editors, and Rachael is among the very best. Her expertise of language and grammar, her consistent attention to detail, and her sensitivity to the author’s voice are all at the highest level. She has met or beat every deadline. In addition to all that, she’s a delight to work with. Rachael makes my job so much easier!”
—Gene Skinner, Senior Editor, Harvest House Publishers

“Rachael is extremely thorough, detail-oriented, and knowledgeable about her craft. She’s also friendly, kind, and responsive. In short, she’s everything you’d want in a copyeditor. As a result of her edits, my book manuscript looks professional and polished as it heads into production. I hope to work with Rachael again in the future.”
—Lynne Strang, author of The 4Ls: A Simple Way to Find Life Purpose

“Rachael has been such a gift. She took the care and time to ask questions about content and intent. The process contained ebb and flow of both our creative processes and allowed me as the author the freedom to trust my work to her expertise. I recommend Rachael without reservation. Her attention to detail, personable communication, and effectiveness are unparalleled.”
