Natalie is an award-winning editor and ghostwriter who has worked for 25 years in book publishing, including several years with Duke University Press and Thomas Nelson. She started a freelance editing business in 2012.
Natalie earned her undergraduate degree from Appalachian State University and her master of arts in theology from Franciscan University at Steubenville. Her favorite projects to work on are those that require a careful examination of structure and content. Authors lost in their work can feel confident in Natalie’s ability to identify threads that require detangling and those that need to be cut, and guidance on weaving them back together in a way that best communicates the author’s message.
Natalie has an affinity for books about social justice issues (poverty, end-of-life care, the sick, the imprisoned, widows and orphans) and prayer, as well as biography and memoir. She is not a good fit for a book that is a “light read,” whether fiction or nonfiction. She especially likes books that are well-thought-out, with deep messages that speak truth … or inspire a change of heart.
