Jennifer has worked in book publishing for 25 years, beginning at Multnomah Publishers in 1999, followed by many years of freelance editing in the Christian, general market, and academic spaces. Most recently, Jennifer served as VP/Publisher for the gift division at HarperCollins Christian Publishing. She has spent her career in nonfiction, fiction, and children’s books, focusing for many years on high-design books in the gift, devotional, and lifestyle spaces (including cookbooks).
She has worked with numerous bestselling authors over the years, including Emily Ley, Sarah Young, Joanna Gaines, Ann Voskamp, Sarah Jakes Roberts, Sadie Robertson Huff, Max Lucado, Bob Goff, Jennifer Tucker, Lauren Alaina, Reba McEntire, and more. She was the lead editor for the Jesus Calling brand, which has sold more than 45 million copies.
Jennifer thrives on collaboration, concept ideation and development, marrying visuals and text, crafting messages based on trends and felt needs, and partnering with authors to clarify their message and enhance their unique voice on paper. She takes a “first do no harm” approach to editing, carefully and respectfully addressing each word and phrase with the author’s message, audience, and voice at the forefront.
Jennifer lives on six acres outside Nashville, Tennessee, where she enjoys gardening, reading, volunteering in animal rescue, and doing various fiber arts.
“I have worked closely with Jen (in a number of capacities) on all eleven of my books. I can confidently say she has impacted my writing ability more than any other professional I’ve worked with. Beyond simply helping me improve clarity and impact, Jen taught me how to write for a broad, diverse audience in specific and personal ways. Her candor, humor, and talents truly made my work better and made an otherwise stressful process a lot of fun. I can’t wait to work with her again!”
