Cara has been writing and editing professionally for over a decade. She specializes in developmental editing for nonfiction manuscripts, as well as proofreading and copy editing for both fiction and nonfiction projects. She also offers coaching and copywriting services for interested clients. She is the author of The Color of Life and Church Camp and has been published in over 100 media outlets and numerous essay collections.
Cara received a bachelor’s degree in secondary education from Pacific Lutheran University and a master’s in theology from Fuller Seminary. Before going freelance full time in 2013, she worked as a high school English teacher and a nonprofit executive director. She believes in the power of words, and often says that nothing brings her more delight than getting to sit with, listen to, and craft the kinds of stories that change the world.
