Allison landed in the freelance editing world in 2013 after being introduced to the nonfiction editorial team at Thomas Nelson (now an imprint of HarperCollins Christian) by another freelance editor. Allison quickly found she loved the work, as her detail-oriented nature and passion for books make her well suited to this field. She has an undergraduate degree in psychology, with a minor in English, from the University of Tennessee and a master’s degree from Washington University in St. Louis.
Over the years, she has worked on more than 450 titles and has been contracted for jobs in a variety of genres by various teams and imprints within HarperCollins: calendars, self-help books, church leadership books, fiction, nonfiction, memoirs, among others. She has proofread books by many well-known Christian and New York Times bestselling authors.
An editor shared the following about her work: “Thanks for your continued excellent work. You bring exactly the right approach to this project, and you’ve helped immeasurably in helping formulate some standards for the unique aspects of the manuscript. The manuscript is in much better shape now, thanks to your keen eye and organized approach.”
